Painting en plein air in Poland and Hungary
- 1979
- Hans Scheuerecker
Only with admission via the Central Board of the Verband Bildender Künstler der DDR (VBK) in 1979 could Hans Scheuerecker (b. 1951), who lived in Cottbus, work as a freelance artist. His application to study painting at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden in 1975 and his admission to the Verband Bildender Künstler der DDR (VBK) had previously been rejected. In his freelance work as an artist, Scheuerecker taught for a time at the branch of the Dresden Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Cottbus and turned to various artistic forms of expression in painting, graphics and sculpture, as well as performances. Scheuerecker also traveled to Poland and Hungary to participate in painting en plein airs. His multi-layered work can be seen, for example, on the website of the Galerie Brandenburg: https://galeriebrandenburg.de/hans-scheuerecker/.
The video interview is part of a conversation conducted by the Zille family (Petra Zille, Ulrike Zille and Ray Zille-Bielß). They manage and preserve the estate of Rainer Zille and run the gallery Kunst vom Dachboden since 2020: https://www.kunst-vom-dachboden.de/.
