Interview of the Zille family with Dieter Weise

The painter, graphic artist and object artist Dieter Weise (b. 1941) studied between 1962 and 1967 at the Dresden Hochschule für Bildende Künste. From 1970 he was a freelance artist and also led painting and drawing circles. He also influenced Dresden's art life, for example by setting up creative studios in the surrounding area from 1990 and opening the Galerie Faltenbrunnen in 1996.
Weise traveled through the Soviet Union after his studies and visited the cities of Moscow, Leningrad and Minsk. In the video interview, he traces the memories of this week-long stay.

The interview in the presence of Ulrike Zille is part of a conversation held by the Zille family (Petra Zille, Ulrike Zille and Ray Zille-Bielß). They manage and preserve the estate of Rainer Zille and have been running the gallery Kunst vom Dachboden since 2020: https://www.kunst-vom-dachboden.de/. Art in Networks thanks them very much for providing the video material as well as for the rights of use.
