- Henry Moore
The Zentrum für Kunstausstellungen der DDR (ZfK) was founded in 1973. On the one hand, the institution held international exhibitions within the GDR, and on the other, it was responsible for presentations of art from the GDR abroad.
Peter Hartmann worked at the Zentrum für Kunstausstellungen between 1975 and 1990, where he held various positions. From 1975, he was head of press and public relations - a cross-departmental job. Since the beginning of the 1980s, Peter Hartmann was the director of the Neue Berliner Galerie at Altes Museum Berlin and was responsible for the organization and implementation of foreign exhibitions in the GDR.
In the video interview, Peter Hartmann talks about the structure of the Zentrum für Kunstausstellungen der DDR and the various fields of responsibility, which exemplified niches with regulated freedoms such as travel and international contacts.
