Interview of the Zille family with Gerlint Söder

Gerlint Söder worked as district secretary of the Verband Bildender Künstler der DDR (VBK) for the Dresden district from 1972 to 1985. In this position, she had the opportunity to exert a certain influence on foreign and study trips of Dresden artists. On the one hand, Gerlint Söder could support the travel wishes of individual artists and, for example, realize personal participation in triennials. On the other hand, she was able to arrange trips planned by the VBK for Dresden artists.

The interview in the presence of Ulrike Zille is part of a conversation conducted by the Zille family (Petra Zille, Ulrike Zille and Ray Zille-Bielß). They manage and preserve the estate of Rainer Zille and run the gallery Kunst vom Dachboden since 2020: https://www.kunst-vom-dachboden.de/. Art in Networks thanks them very much for providing the video material as well as the rights of use.
